Welcome to WFPG!

To Patients and Families of Willamette Falls Pediatric Group:

You may have noticed some significant changes at our clinics, and it seemed good to pause a moment to give you an update on what’s up at WFPG!
First off, please join us in welcoming Dr. Dilek Bishku to WFPG! She has just relocated from Chicago where she provided outpatient as well as hospital care to children. Her practice emphasized failure to thrive, obesity and chronic disease. Dr Bishku was Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Chicago, where she trained residents and medical students. She was also Vice President of Medical Affairs at La Rabida Children’s Hospital, a specialty hospital for children with chronic illness and Director of their Failure to Thrive Program. In addition, Dr Bishku has written several children’s books in her native, Turkish, language. She enjoys spending time with her family and her dog, “Pickle,” and continues to write books for children.

In addition, WFPG has earned designation as a Patient-centered Primary Care Medical Home. A large part of the National Healthcare Transition you've been hearing about is creating a patient-centered experience as  your clininc becomes your healthcare "home." That 'home" includes medical, as well as behavioral and social needs. What hasn't changed is our continued striving to work as a team to keep your child and family as healthy as possible.

In this spirit of transition, as I commit more time to family, and the operational aspects of taking WFPG through this transition, I will no longer be providing medical care to patients. You will, however, continue to see me around the clinic. Please stop and say hello!

We are also committed to tracking our progress, and you may be asked to complete a brief survey to let us know how we are doing. The changes to healthcare are necessary and can lead to better health for all. As you would expect, WFPG is embracing that change.

In conclusion, we appreciate your patience as we move toward this patient-centered and wholistic care model. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your child's healthcare team and part of your family.

Sincerely,
Christina Grucella, MD
Clinic Director
